Ney York City, the perfect spot for that perfect selfie, right? So many choices from the bow of the Staten Island Ferry, under the lights on Broadway, or during a run in with a celebrity. You’ll find lots of quick draw caricature artists spread out over Central Park and the main promenade known as the mall, practicing an art that dates back to the 1800s. One artist is still capturing the selfie in a unique way that has always captured the attention and admiration of visitors. Walk to the Mall’s northernmost point and go right when the path splits at the Bethesda Fountain. On a bench overlooking the lake you will find Yakov, who has been drawing in the park for over 15 years. Yakov’s forte is portraiture and he will spend on average 35 minutes on each one. On any given day he will complete 10 to 12 portraits, charging $10 for charcoal and $20 for oil. While having your portrait completed, Yakov will engage in interesting conversation and then use what he has learned from you to add something special to the piece of art. In the background of your photo-realistic Portrait, you will notice emoji-like extras that make his artwork unique. So, if you find yourself in the area and are looking for a caricature, make sure to look for Yavok, on the bench by the lake. You will be sure to leave with something special.

Today, Wednesday November 1, 2017, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in coordination with air carriers, implemented the latest phase of enhanced security measures at all last-point-of-departure airports at 105 countries around world. All passengers on flights bound for the United States are now subject to expanded security screening procedures prior to departure. The procedure changes being implemented vary by airline, but may include personal security interviews conducted by airline employees, questionnaires and heightened screening of personal electronic devices.
Travel trade associations that Dabbler Travel belongs to are also urging the Administration to expeditiously set clear rules of the road, and to communicate those changes to the traveling public in conjunction with the airlines, such that disruption is kept to a minimum. A good rule of thumb is to check with the relevant carrier on policy changes and, when in doubt, arrive at the airport early!

Nothing wrong with this (hey, you’re on vacation!), but there are a multitude of ways to put a little zip in your next cruise.
